St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Council Meeting 9-5-2010

Those present were John Villegas, Pam Borkowski, Julie McKeaver, Orrin Bruhn, Bonnie Axland, Linda Tietsort and Pastor Ron Rasmussen.

President John called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

Devotions: Focus on Jesus being the prophet, not just one of the prophets. A lot of things going on in our lives and the world, but we need to keep proclaiming that Jesus is the Way, Truth and the Life.

Secretaries Report: Pam read the August minutes, motion to approve the minutes by Bonnie, seconded by Orrin, motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: No treasurer’s report was read

Pastor’s Report:

· Lutheran Core Convocation –was August 24-27, Pastor attended and reported that it was interesting and that he got a lot out of it.

· Vacation is September 29-October 10, Vic said he would lead those 2 Sunday services.

· Vote was held and the LCMC won, with voting results of 24-LMCA, 20-Both and 4 for NALC. So, LMCA is who we will be joining if the vote passes to leave ELCA.

Announcements:

· Saturday worships- September 18th, and they will continue through November they will not be held over the winter.

· Vote to leave ELCA on Sept. 12th. It has to pass by 2/3 of voting members. Member would have had to contributed and communed in the last year and have been confirmed. No absentee votes will be accepted.

Old Business:

· Furnace- they have been working on it, but at the time of the council meeting they were not done yet.

New Business:

· Rally Sunday will be September 12th, Service at 9:00, Vote at 9:30, Sunday school at 10:00.

Next meeting – October 3rd at 8 am, before the service

Pam made the motion to adjourn and Bonnie seconded it, at 8:52, motion carried.
