St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Council Meeting 12-3-2009

Those present were Mike Fara, John Villegas, Orrin Bruhn, Sarah Borhnoft, Linda Tietsort, Dale Feser and Pastor Ron Rasmussen.

President Mike called the meeting to order at 7:20 p.m.

Devotions: Exodus 1:7.

Secretaries Report: Pastor Ron read the November minutes, motion to approve by Linda, seconded by Orrin, motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Dale gave the treasurer’s report, motioned to approve by John and seconded by Sarah, motion carried.

John presented the proposed 2010 Budget. Motioned by Orrin to approve the budget and present to the congregation at the annual meeting, seconded by Sarah, motion carried.

Pastor’s Report:

Adult Forum- forum will be December 6th with both churches at Bethlehem at 5:30, with meal to follow, sandwiches and bars.

Youth Work:

Soup Supper- made $657.00 after expenses.

Adapt-a-family- may do that the 20th.

Acquire the Fire Concert- there were several Luther Leaguers that showed interest.

Confirmants are doing an excellent job of reading in church.

Need to discuss where to send offering from Thanksgiving Eve service.

Mike Williams may be able to preach on Dec. 27th, or we may do a lay service. Pastor will be gone.

Pastor sponsored Christmas music on KNOD today Dec. 3rd, from 1-2:00 and Dec. 23rd from 10-11 a.m. He paid for this himself.

Christmas services will be at 5:30 and 10:30 p.m., both with communion.

Time change-service at St. Paul’s will be 9:00 a.m. starting Jan. 3rd.

Sunday school program will be on Dec. 20th.

Old Business:

Pastor purchased and donated a new music stand.

Organ- Steve Strong from Church Music Services repaired the organ- right not it’s working fine.

The website hasn’t been updated lately. Pastor will get it caught up.

New Business:

Annual meeting- January 10th at 9:00 during service.

Mike, Sarah and Cy are outgoing council members and need to find replacements.

Caroling- need to ask in church for volunteers for soup.

Joint council meeting with Bethlehem, Dec. 6th after the Adult Forum. Cy, Mike, Orrin and John will attend.

The next meeting will be January 6th at 7:00 p.m.

Orrin motioned to adjourn and John seconded it at 8:30. Motion carried.
