Those present were Paul Stewart, Bob Andersen, Leroy Larsen, Mike Fara, Cy Monson, Jason Monson and Pastor Ron Rasmussen.

Paul moved that Mike chair the meeting and Cy 2nd.  Mike brought the meeting to order at 8:20 p.m.  Bob moved that Jason take minutes  and Cy 2nd.

Agenda Items

Service times:  We decided to continue alternating the service times as we have done in the past.  It is the consensus that both churches prefer the early service so this is the only way to be fair.  Starting January 1st Bethlehem will start at 9:00 a.m. and St. Paul’s will start at 11:00.

Christmas Eve Services:  This year St. Paul’s will have their Christmas Eve service at 7:30 and Bethlehem will have theirs at 5:30 and 10:30 with a communion service.  There will not be a service Christmas day.

Lenten Services:  We will continue to share Lenten services.  The offering will be used by the church hosting the service.  The first Lenten service, Ash Wednesday, will be February 25th.

Pastor’s joint compensation:  We looked at the attendance, membership and ability to pay the pastor and decided to maintain the current 50/50 split of compensation from each church.

Radio Spots:  We discussed the radio evangelism spots that St. Paul’s has started.  Bethlehem thought that they would like to share in this, so they would like to help pay for this.

At this point the Pastor closed with a prayer and dismissed himself.  We then discussed his compensation for the coming year starting June 1st 2009.  The Lutheran Synod guidelines were looked at and it was decided to go along with the guideline recommendations.  Cy moved that we increase the Pastor’s salary to $62573.59, which includes the salary and benefits.  Paul 2nd the motion and the motion carried.  Bob and Mike will discuss the Pastor’s job performance with him.

The next meeting has been tentatively scheduled for July 29th 2009.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:35 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Jason Monson
