November Newsletter

Friends in Christ,

As most of you know, during Lent we hold mid-week services with four churches involved: Bethlehem, St. Paul, Immanuel, and Bethany. These mid-week Lent services have been meaningful for all involved, providing worship and fellowship between our church families. It has worked so well, two years ago we held four mid-week services during Advent. Since they went so well the first two years (although we ran into weather problems last year), we are going to join with our Lent partners for four Advent mid-week services again this year. Advent is the time leading up to Christmas. We will be doing a series called: "While Shepherds Watched for the Messiah". Our first mid-week Advent service will be Wednesday, November 24 at 7:30 pm. The schedule is:

First Week of Advent: “The Shepherd Abraham”

Wednesday, November 24 / St. Paul in Irwin

Second Week of Advent: “The Shepherd Moses”

Wednesday, November 1 / Bethany in Kimballton

Third Week of Advent: “The Shepherd David”

Wednesday, November 8 / Bethlehem in Jacksonville

Fourth Week of Advent: “The Bethlehem Shepherds”

Wednesday, November 15 / Immanuel in Kimballton

There will be a lighting of the Advent candles, Christmas hymns and carols, and I hope the youth will take part in leading our worship. I also hope during this busy time of year, you can set aside time for these special worship services. (Our first mid-week Advent service will be on Thanksgiving Eve. Our Luther League will be putting our Annual Soup Supper at the Irwin Community Building on that night. Come support our youth and then join us for worship at St. Paul.)

Your friend in Christ,

Pastor Ron
