JUNE NEWSLETTER

On Monday, April 28 I had my gastric by-pass surgery. The surgery went well  . I   was under the knife for two hours. They were able to perform a   laparoscopic   surgery, which means there was only four small incisions   (rather  than one large incision down the center of my chest). I was in the   hospital for four days, and released on Thursday.

The results have been very gratifying. I have already lost about thirty-five   pounds. I’m off my diabetic medication, and my blood sugar is under control.   I   have more energy. My diet is still a little restrictive, but I am not hungry.   The only time I have craved any food that I am not supposed to have was at   the   movie theater. I went to see “The Narnia Chronicles: Prince Caspian”,   and when I smelled the popcorn, I really wanted some. But popcorn is still   taboo for me. How do you watch a movie without popcorn? This week (May   19)  I am returning to full time ministry.

I want to thank you again for your prayers and support. All the cards and   good   wishes were greatly appreciated. (Thanks for the balloons from some of   the kids.) Obviously, this is not a short term thing. It is a long process, and I   will continue to need your prayers and support. But things are going great so   far, and I thank God for that.

Your friend in Christ,

Pastor Ron
